User testing
The sharpest tool for assessing and improving the performance of your site or system.
In our dedicated labs we test real people, performing real tasks - observing what they actually do - real actions, real evidence, not opinions. We uncover where they have problems, and their attitudes to you and your service.
We use eyetracking as standard and have pioneered a new user testing technique that gives better results compared to the way that most other consultancies test.
Key details
- We perform 1-on-1 individual testing - observing people performing realistic tasks under realistic circumstances.
- Testing to find usability problems (so we can fix them) usually only requires 5-6 people per target demographic - if you are looking for quantitative measures the we need to test with more people (and will advise you on the approrpiate number for your test).
- Testing normally takes around one hour per participant (usually up to 6 people per day) - although for very focussed tests we are able to test up to 15 people per lab setup per day.
- Testing normally uses eyetracking as standard - we do not charge a premium for this - we only charge more for very detailed specialist quantitative eyetracking analyses.
- Testing takes place in one of our 6 dedicated labs, or in the field using our mobile equipment.
- All tests are digitally recorded to disk, permitting compelling and persuasive video highlights films to be made.
- We often use a new testing techique we pioneered called PEEP (Post evaluation eyetracked protocol) - this allows us to test users in a more natural and effective way than traditional 'think aloud' testing used by most companies.
